Believe it or not, this was my very first experience of attending any festival, although I have heard of many across the country, I've never bucked up the courage to take a step out of my comfort zone before, so I thought achieving this is something I needed to do.
At first, I was very nervous considering I'm a very self-conscious person when I'm in a crowd with tonnes of people, I'm always worried what people may think of me, or even laugh at me. especially around others who are my age. But no! I'm very pleased to tell you all that everything went amazing and the people around me were very kind and friendly. If I'm honest... I didn't even worry at all because I was having way too much fun it just flew to the back of my mind.
So, let's get cracking, I have lots to tell you but I don't even know where to fit half of it!
The evening started off exactly as I imagined. Waiting, waiting and more waiting!
Although me and my dad managed to grab the perfect spot very near the front, We waited almost 3 hours until the first act took to the stage. (Yes! our feet were killing but so worth it!) Opening the show was Anne-Marie. Oh my god, was she amazing?!
The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing, nothing like I've seen before. There were other kids pushing their way to the front which I had no problem with, until it gets to the pushing and shoving of course and the plastic bottles flying everywhere. That's what really annoyed me the most. But still... It didn't ruin my night as didn't a couple of kids blatantly sparking up joints, acting all big like they're made of rock when in actual fact, they look like little rapper wannabes with their big shades and Adidas caps that look too big for their skinny little heads.
*Sorry guys, rant over*
Anne-Marie looked absolutely incredible! I never realised just how stunning she was until I could see her in person.
She performed a couple of her new singles which are my favourites at the moment. Which are - Alarm and Do It Right.
As for Jess Glynne who came on stage just after we left the front to go to the back for drinks, she was incredible. The only one me and my dad were keen to see perform.
In fact, the whole crowd really started to come together when Jess Glynne made an appearance. Couldn't fault her as an artist, nor her stage presence, bang on incredible is all I can really say.
All the performances were amazing, Anne-Marie and Jess Glynne were the ones to watch for me.
I was very keen on videoing for my snapchat that I simply forgot to take some still images so I will say now that these images I've used are from MTV.
Other acts were Jonas Blue and Rudimental who came onstage at the very end, the last performers which I unfortunately missed which I was extremely gutted about.
Overall, my first festival experience was insane and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I'm now keen to try out more as I'm surprised I coped OK amongst the noisy crowd.
