On Wednesday evening I had the chance to go to the Hall For Cornwall Theatre to watch - The Circus Of Horrors.
It was my mum's birthday treat for her birthday so my auntie bought her tickets which I managed to tag along alongside.
Before the show begun, the three of us headed out for a meal in Truro as we had plenty of time to kill before the show started.
It's almost rare I get to visit the theatre. The last show I watched was, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night which was really good so I expected Circus Of Horrors to be even better!
Although it wasn't the first time I had watched the Circus Of Horrors, I had already been 3 years ago to watch their first ever show in Cornwall which was fantastic.
The show begun at 7.30pm and we took our seats to enjoy the two-hour performance. At first there was confusion with the seats which was thankfully sorted. We had chosen the wrong seats and before we knew it the show had already begun. So we shuffled along quietly to the right seats we were supposed to be in. It was hilarious but embarrassing.
The show had begun and we were already 35 minutes into it. I suppose time flies when you're having fun!
The first-half was extremely painful to watch! One of the performers were swallowing swords and doing all sorts of crazy stunts. I was forever cringing and thinking what If it had all gone wrong in a split-second... I'm sure there were paramedics on stand-by. It was really gripping and frightening to watch. The guy swallowed around 5 swords altogether. Some were razor sharp! I literally felt a lump in my throat whilst watching it.
I was pretty on edge throughout the performance and kept peaking over my shoulder as there were clowns appearing from no-where all around the seating areas. They were really freaky. The clowns would trample on you when climbing down to the stage.
Amongst other performers there were acrobats too. They would perform stunts in the air on those ribbon (thingys) You can't forget to mention the little dwarf who was absolutely hilarious and do stupid rude things. He was literally the star of the show!
Overall I really enjoyed the performance. It was their second occasion of performing in Cornwall which I am so happy to of watched.
They're touring all across the UK at the moment, so, make sure you keep a look out as they could be around your area next time! It's worth the watch if you haven't seen it before. It's a show you're never forget...
