It only seems like moments ago that Jason Burrill won Big Brother 2016 and that I interviewed him not long after his victory. When I chat to Jason now, he's been up to all sorts of exciting things including a major film role!
Here I chat once again, exclusively to Jason on what life has been like after Big Brother and how it's changed his life - Enjoy!
How has life been treating you since winning BB last year?
Life's been good since winning Big Brother. The positive response from everyone has been amazing, it's been great going to more events and premiers etc, but the good thing is to be able to help a few charities out just by attending and making people aware of what they do via social media, being part of K-9 Angels and Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice especially. Plus I'm back playing football again after a few years for celeb teams so I'm constantly injured, limping or holding something that shouldn't hurt!!
How has life changed in the past year?
Life has not massively changed but it has stepped up a few levels, more film offers, events and opportunities are being offered to me now, but just being very careful what I choose to do. No one wants to see me on absolutely everything that's on TV and social media and I would like my film career to keep progressing so I can't do anything to hold that back. So going to every "opening of an envelope" or doing a TV programme about "extending or decreasing my anatomy" is not going to happen!
What would you like 2017 to bring you?
Hopefully 2017 will be as eventful with many surprises as 2016, although we do control our own destiny you never know what life has in store for you. So if the movie roles that I'm finishing or about to start continue and other offers still come through then I would be happy. You never know what's around the corner.
Are you watching the current series of CBB?
I've watched a few of this years CBB, I can see it kicking off at some point, I've got my favourites like most people. (Calum, Bianca and James J) plus others that would drive me totally insane that are either devious or look like they are chewing a wasp! I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome.
Would you have gone in if you were invited back on the show?
To go back in knowing what to expect and end up with a few people you actually know and that you would get on with would be a total different experience. I would love it. It's turning out to be the UK v USA. Plus when some are obviously playing a game this time it would be enjoyable putting a stop to that!! I would like to go in with a mission from BB!
Are you still in touch with your fellow housemates?
I keep in touch with just a few of the housemates that had my back throughout the BB experience. I'm sure our paths will cross with all of them at some point in the future.
What advice would you give to this summer's new housemates?
My advice to anyone entering the house is just be yourself and be who you really are. No one can be fake or pretend to be someone they are not for that amount of time and eventually the real person comes out under stressful situations. So let the public see the real you from the start because if your personality changes as time goes on that will only go against you.
Last year rumours surfaced that you're hoping to crack Hollywood with your acting career, is this true?
I'm just finishing The Dark Return Of Time with Eric Roberts. Once that is complete I'm off to LA to film the action film "Serpent" with Gia Skova which will be an amazing experience.. I'm currently reading a script for a fantasy adventure film which will we start this year which will be an excellent part, plus we are tentatively in talks about myself joining a current popular running TV series but in the tv/film industry everything is last minute and can change at any time so we will just have to wait and see.
Whats your favourite film of all-time?
Favourite film probably has to be 'Usual Suspects' with Kevin Spacey and anything with Sir Anthony Hopkins in it. Both brilliant actors. I rate Tom Hardy as a superb versatile actor too.
Lastly, could we be seeing you hit the big screen anytime soon?
See me on the big screen? You never know how soon! There are certain projects in motion but when it happens who knows. Things change in the industry at a flick of a switch. I'm sure you have not seen the last of me yet. Sorry!
