I was very happy to get the opportunity to interview an actor for my blog and grab an insight of what it's like to be an actor.
Luke Junior is a feature film actor who started off as an extra in many films. Working his way from the bottom, Luke has now starred in a number of famous movies such as, Redcon, Final Score and Missed Opportunity.
Luke is now currently writing his very own movie so I jumped at the chance to find out a little bit more about it and get some exciting exclusives...
How are things going for you at the moment?
Really great thank you mate. I don't really have time to myself nowadays, but hard work pays off and will be worth it in the long run.
You are a boxing fan, have you always been a fan?
Yes I have always liked Manny Pacquiao and aspired to be like him and Awkward Southpaw.
Have you got a favourite boxer in particular?
Manny Pacquiao is my all-time favourite fighter, he came from nothing and is still real and humble but most of all he is a real legend and the people's champion.
You're an actor, how did you first get into that?
I started off 3 years ago as an extra which I commented on a post of a friend, Theo. I started off as an extra for the feature film named Unit Eleven, directed by Theo Cane Garvey. A post apocalyptic film set in 2035 which now I have various featured roles in too. I wouldn't have been doing what I'm doing now without his help or if I didn't commented on that post 3 years ago.
what made you decide to go from a boxing career to acting?
I left boxing due to family commitments and work but most of all for my daughter. My last professional fight that I had lost, my daughter wouldn't come near me as my face was battered and bruised which broke me, so I decided to concentrate on acting instead.
Describe a typical day in the life of being an actor for you?
To Me, my days are just normal as I wouldn't change If I make the big time or not. I'm just a normal lad really just with a big heart and I know my roots. I still have a day job too.
Tell us what films you've been involved in...
Well so far I have been involved in the following films: Unit Eleven, Redcon, The Hatton Garden Job, Missed Opportunity, The Pilgrimage, Final Score, Accidental Hit-man, Broken By Blood, plus many many more to add to the list soon as a lot more are still in the casting process. my parts are secure and signed for too.
What's the best/least favourite thing about your career in acting?
The best thing about acting is going to new locations, meeting the cast and working with everyone on set but obviously seeing the final product is always a massive boost and rewarding to us all in this industry. The worst part about being an actor Is the waiting around on sets if you are under strict rules not to be on set or if it's not your turn. Everyone knows me, I have a laugh and take things seriously but definitely like to help out but not everyone thinks like I do so some times it can be frustrating just being sat down. I'm very mischievous on film set! never leave your phone active, haha. You might get a few selfies.
Have you got a favourite movie?
My favourite all-time move is Saving Private Ryan. It's a proper man's film. Us real men cry at this just like women cry at the Titanic like I may of mentioned in a previous tweet on Twitter.
What type of character do you prefer playing the most?
Well to be honest I like being the British bad guy but my favourite, main role is now playing a sniper/soldier in the film called A Yorkshire War written by myself also which we are starting to film in July 2017. It's based In 1943.
Have you ever worked alongside or met any famous actors/celebrities?
Yes I've met plenty but my all time favourite actor I got to meet was Dave Bautista. Everyone knows him from other films and mainly wrestling as a world champion. I'm in the same film as him as well which is named 'Final Score'. I play the part as a West Ham United Steward.
If someone was going to make your life into a movie, who would play you?
If anyone would play me, I'd like Jim Carrey to play the funny side of me and Henry Cavill to play the serious me.
Lastly, what's coming up for you this year?
There is a lot happening as I will be starring in a lot more films coming out this year and next year too. But I'm mainly excited for the release of Unit Eleven and now mainly working on my own film named A Yorkshire War because what I'm doing has never been done in Sheffield before and in WWII. I'm doing all the filming I can now to make my daughter, my Partner and my mum proud and make sure the futures is secure, just n case anything is to ever happen to me. Everything I do is purely for them .
