Good afternoon folks! Hope you're all having a fun-filled Sunday whatever you are doing today.
I thought I'd try something much more different today and write a little skincare post. As somebody like myself who enjoys having a good ol' pamper session now and again (Boys can too!), I thought I'd give you an insight to how I like to take care of my skin and show you what I do on a lazy sunday afternoon.
Last week, I came across this face mask set after browsing the internet for some half-decent face mask kits to try out. I thought I'd go the extra mile and invest in something which looks like it's really going to benefit my skin very well and make it extra clearer.
I found FaceTox, I heard some really great reviews on them from other bloggers and celebrities who have tried it out. So, I thought why not give it a try myself and see if it actually works...
Inside the box you will find 7 sachets of rose water and 7 sachets of their mixed blend of clay powder, including a small mixing bowl and spoon. Supposedly the face mask will likely be the most powerful clay mask you'll ever try with it's Aztec healing abilities and 100% organic blend.
It aims to prevent and draw out blackheads, reduce the appearance of scars, even skin tone, draw on external toxins, heal and regenerate skin tissue, and unclog and shrink pores.
I really like the fact that it's all natural ingredients and you're not putting any harsh chemicals on your skin. I've never ever had a face mask where I mix myself which is a fun thing to do and it literally takes seconds to whip into a paste. It's very simple and quick to do.
After applying the clay mask to my skin using the mini plastic spoon, my first impression was that it glides on effortlessly as it's a really smooth but thick paste. There were still plenty of the mask left over although you couldn't use it else it will harden after so I added a quick extra layer on top so I get the full use out of it.
You can certainly feel it working on your skin. I've heard some people say that you may feel a slight tingle but I didn't feel that at all. If anything, your skin feels fresher the second you apply it. Quite literally!
After the first few minutes, I felt the mask pulling and tightening so you know it's doing the job it's supposed to do . After the 30 minutes is up and it's time to take it off, It's a challenge to wipe it off your face. This doesn't ruin it for me however it is very messy and hard to clean the sink out after use.
I have very sensitive skin as well, after I managed to wipe away the product, my skin became very red however, It only lasts for up to an hour. It's best to give the redness time to fade before maybe you head off out. I've read that this is normal for this to do as it's clearing out the unwanted toxins.
Overall, I really like this mask, It does exactly what it's supposed to do and my skin feels extremely soft and smooth after. I wouldn't recommend leaving it on for more than 30 minutes as it may tighten your skin too much and leaving it unbearable to breathe.
For better effect, they recommend you use it everyday for a week but frankly that may be difficult for those who lead busy lives. It's still great to use it once or twice a week though and it still does the job you want it to do.
